Seriously though, some tips I learned the hard way:
Stage (line up at the starting line lighting up BOTH sets of staging lights) with the other person. Don't stage early if you finish your burnout before him, stay back and wait for them to stage with you.
If you're using street tires don't drive through the water in the burnout box, you don't need it.
Leave on the last yellow, not the green

should I leave traction control on?Or just on sport? Will be driving my fiesta st if that makes a difference.

Do not leave traction control on, that's what the clutch and throttle is for. The whole fun of drag racing is in the launch so take of all the driving aids and learn to be faster than the computer.
